THE DRY: Streaming on ITVX for a while, where it has gained millions of views, the second series of this comedy-drama about Shiv, a thirtysomething recovering alcoholic, and her troubled family, now debuts on terrestrial TV. A third series has already been commissioned. ITV1, 10:15pm.
Monday, January 13
ALEXEI SAYLE'S STRANGERS ON A TRAIN: In the second series, the comedian once again breaks the unwritten rule of train travel in the UK by talking to his fellow passengers. In this episode, he journeys from London to Blackpool, meeting Michael, who’s heading to a major international dance competition, and a woman who runs the most famous fleet of trams in the country. BBC Radio 4, 10:30pm.
RICHARD OSMAN’S HOUSE OF GAMES: Comedian Ania Magliano joins sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, reality TV regular Joe Swash, and BBC Asian Network’s Jasmine Takhar on this week’s episode. BBC Two, 6pm.
Tuesday, January 14
DINNERLADIES: The second series of Victoria Wood’s sitcom, featuring Anne Reid, Julie Walters, Maxine Peake, and others, continues, airing at the same time every weekday. Gold, 8pm.
Wednesday, January 15
RUSSELL HOWARD LIVE AT THE LONDON PALLADIUM: The comic’s latest special will be streaming on the Driift platform at 8pm UK time, with on-demand access available from 1am the following day. The stream will feature a bonus segment called Off The Cuff, and Howard will take part in a live interactive session with fans during the launch. Tickets priced at £10 are available here.

STAND-UP SPECIALS: Five new specials debut on ITVX today, courtesy of the broadcaster’s partnership with comedy streamer NextUp. The specials include Rachel Parris’s Poise (a 'love letter to musical comedy'), Geoff Norcott’s Basic Bloke (about masculinity), Marcus Brigstocke’s Absolute Shower (social commentary), Jo Caulfield’s Here Comes Trouble (biting comedy), and Alasdair Beckett-King’s Nevermore (whimsical and surreal comedy).
UP THE CHASTITY BELT: Frankie Howerd stars as Lurkabot, a serf who sells love potions in this patchy 1971 crusade-era comedy, written by Sid Colin, Ray Galton, and Alan Simpson. Talking Pictures TV, 9:05pm.

TRAVEL MAN: 48 HOURS IN ROTTERDAM: Joe Lucett takes Alex Brooker from The Last Leg on a two-day tour of the Dutch city, staying in eco-friendly Wikkelboats. Their adventure includes a rooftop tour, tasting chips with peanut sauce, and playing a game at the Dutch pinball museum. Channel 4, 8:30pm.
8 OUT OF 10 CATS DOES COUNTDOWN: Jimmy Carr hosts as Jon Richardson and Guz Khan face off against Katherine Ryan and Joe Wilkinson. Susie Dent is joined by Alasdair Beckett-King in Dictionary Corner, and Rachel Riley looks after the letters and numbers. Channel 4, 9pm.
